Decorating Bathrooms

Would you like to learn how to add some sparkle to your bathroom! Here is how to decorate your bathroom with a surprise decoration source – glass! Now decorating bathrooms can be the highlight of your renovations.

There are many style options when it comes to decorating bathrooms. Some homeowners feel that a bathroom, no matter how small or grand should have a calming and relaxed feel. On the other hand, some designers feel that this approach is much too predictable, and that homeowners should consider adding some drama to their home using elaborate and unexpected bathroom fixtures and accessories.

Glass – a growing trend

Either way, the trend to use glass when decorating bathrooms is one which seems to be growing in popularity. Glass has been a popular choice in home decorating for centuries and has been used to produce endless home accents including doors, furniture and even refrigerators but it has not been until recently that glass has become a fashionable selection for both bath and powder rooms.

Glass bathroom fixtures are not a new development. In fact, most bathrooms include at least a few glass features such as mirrors and medicine cabinets, however, these traditional touches are nothing compared to the modern glass accents available today.

For example, one of the most popular glass features used when decorating bathrooms now are blown glass bowl sinks. These unexpected and often colorful features are unique in many ways, the most obvious being that they are set atop the counter instead of being sunk inward and flush like most traditional sinks.

Consider glass tiles

Another popular bathroom feature are glass tiles which can be used when designing and installing tub surrounds, vanity counter tops or even walk-in shower stalls. Glass tile is available in many different colors, shapes and sizes and can be used to develop any number of style options.

For example, using a selection of glass tiles which range in color from soft pale green to deep blue will bring the ocean and sea to mind; a great inspiration when decorating bathrooms.

Though bowl sinks and tiles are the most common glass features, they are merely the beginning. Other glass bathroom accents could include glass drawer-pulls for linen cupboards or vanities, glass frames for mirrors and wall art, shower doors, shelving, organizers for toiletries, glass soap dishes and even glass towel holders and rods! The options are almost endless, and each one is sure to add a little bit of sparkle and a lot of style when decorating bathrooms.
